MOULTRIE – For the second year in a row, Colquitt County High basketball standouts Diamond Hall and Za’Nautica Downs will play in the GACA All-Star game. The contest takes place Saturday at Dalton High School, and as an added bonus, their coach with the Lady Packers, Rondesha Williams, is the head coach for the Senior Girls South team.

Last year, Hall and Downs played in the Junior Girls South team when the GACA staged their games at Brunswick High School.

Hall and Downs, two of the top three scorers in Lady Packer history, are also on the GACA Class 7A South All-State team. Hall is also a two-time Region 1-7A Player of the Year.

“It’s a great honor. It speaks highly of our program for them to go back-to-back,” said Williams. “They both worked hard. They came in as freshmen and made their mark on Colquitt County High School basketball.

“It’s worth the drive. I’m excited to be chosen (as the coach) by my peers.”

Also on the Senior South team are familiar players Jamesha Samuels of Lowndes and Nadia Marshall of Bainbridge.

Williams said Downs is going to sign with Florida Southwestern, and she said Hall is still choosing among offers from Georgia Southwestern State, Auburn-Montgomery and Tuskegee.
