THOMASVILLE — A Thomasville resident on probation for burglary convictions is back behind bars, again charged with burglary.
Police received a call at 11:45 a.m. Thursday about a burglary in the 100 block of Habersham Drive in A Place In The Woods subdivision off Metcalfe Road.
A rear door had been forced open, according to reports. Miscellaneous items were missing from the house, said Capt. Maurice Holmes, Thomasville Police Department Criminal Investigations Division commander.
Earlier, at 10:58 a.m. Thursday, an alarm sounded at a residence in the 400 block of Habersham. While police were responding to the alarm alert, another call was received from the area.
“The victim returned home and found her home had been entered. Someone had kicked in the back door,” Holmes said.
Detectives developed evidence that led to Quindarius Demarion Mitchell, 20 304 S. Martin Luther King Drive, who was arrested at his residence.
Holmes said Mitchell also will be charged with a burglary committed last week on Woodgate Drive, a dead-end street in unincorporated Thomas County between Habersham and South Pinetree Boulevard.
Holmes said a wooded trail leads from Woodgate to Habersham and the subdivision’s pool house.
“That’s the route he was taking,” Holmes said.
