Shade Murphy to attend STEM camp

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Shade Murphy has been awarded a scholarship to attend a STEM based learning program in Pensacola, Fla., at the National Flight Academy this summer.  

During his six days at the NFA, Murphy will live and learn aboard a simulated aircraft carrier surrounded by advanced technology, flight simulators, and virtual reality stations. He will take part in a program aimed at inspiring him through STEM-based learning and activities, allowing him to demonstrate and expand his knowledge of 21st century technologies.

The STEM program educates students in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.  

Murphy entered an essay contest sponsored by Endeavor Air and Delta Air Lines to compete for one of 24 scholarships.

A sophomore at CCHS, Murphy is the son of Spencer and Ginny Murphy of Moultrie. He is the grandson of Jerry and Lynn Hampton and Keith Murphy of Moultrie and Mike and Stephanie D’Errico of Tallahassee.
