TIFTON, Ga. — Residents will have the opportunity to talk with Tift County Sheriff’s Office personnel at Coffee with a Cop at 8 a.m. on Friday, June 22, at Starbucks, according to a press release from the TCSO.
“Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the department’s work in Tift County’s neighborhoods,” states the release.
Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by the United States Department of Justice. Similar events will be taking place across the country to advance and improve community policing by improving the relationships between police officers and community members.
“We hope that community members will feel comfortable to ask questions, bring concerns or simply get to know our deputies,” said TCSO Captain Dennis Reese. “These interactions are the foundation of community partnerships.”
