Listed as Charlie Sanders on the Outlaws roster, the 6-foot, 330-pounder plays both offensive and defensive line for the Outlaws.

Sanders, of course, is no stranger to playing on championship teams.

He was a member of the Valdosta State University national championship teams of 2004 and 2007.

The league title was the third in five years for the Outlaws, who finished the 2010 season with a 16-2 record.

The Indoor Football League includes 25 teams from around the country.

• Sherard Reynolds, Sanders’ former Colquitt County and Valdosta State teammate and currently a Packers assistant coach, will undergo knee surgery shortly.

Reynolds had just signed with the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League, when he tore a ligament in his knee in practice.

• The Georgia/Florida/Alabama Minor League Baseball Reunion will meet one last time next month here in Moultrie.

The 10th and final reunion, which started in 2001, will be held Aug. 13-14.

The reunion was the brainchild of Moultrie’s Clint Chafin, who, with the help of Jack Bridwell of the Museum of Colquit County History, has put on the event each year.

Each year, the reunion has been dedicated to the memory of Chafin’s father Bobbie Chafin, who, in 1949, pitched for the Griffin club in the Georgia-Alabama League.

It was Clint’s desire to find a photograph of his father in his Griffin uniform that led him create the reunion and do much of work that has resulted in the former players, managers, batboys, officials and fans of Class D minor league baseball in South traveling to Moultrie for a couple days each August.

Among those who have  come to Moultrie for reunions are Atlanta Journal-Constitution writer Furman Bisher, author Paul Hemphill, former New Giants pitcher Ace Adams and former Milwaukee Braves pitcher Taylor Phillips.

On Friday, Aug. 13, there will be golf, a home run derby and a supper at the Colquitt County Ag Building.

On Saturday, Aug. 14, there will be barbecue lunch at the ag building at noon and an open-to-the-public program during which players will talk about their experiences.

The annual banquet will be held from 5-7 p.m at the ag building.
