McCalls Chapel to host barbecue fundraiser
BRANFORD, Fla. — McCalls Chapel United Methodist Women will be hosting a barbecue chicken dinner fundraiser on Saturday. The fundraiser’s goal is to support Another Way Out, a domestic abuse and shelter located in Chiefland. Another Way Out serves the tri-county area and is in need of additional support due to government cut-backs. Dinners for adults are $7 and children’s dinners are $4. McCalls Chapel is located at 7755 SE SR 349 in Branford, just north of the Dixie/Lafayette County line.
ABAC to host day of service
TIFTON, Ga. — The faculty, staff, and students at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College are hosting the first ever Day of Service on Aug. 14 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. to give back to the Tifton community. Bernice Hughes, dean of students, said ABAC is currently seeking community partners to be on the receiving end of its free service. Churches, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and individuals may submit project requests to: https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/dfKer8pH597EfZ21QDIm The organization or person in need of help must supply all materials and equipment needed, and ABAC will provide the people power to get the job done. The project submission deadline is July 24. Community partners will be notified regarding project selection by July 31. Hiring events slated
ATLANTA – The Georgia Department of Labor is helping the Georgia Federal-State Inspection Service by hosting hiring events July 12 at several locations around the state. The agency is seeking temporary peanut inspectors and inspector’s aides. All the events run from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The locations for the events are:
