Bond denied for Carter on Ochlocknee incident charges

THOMASVILLE — For the second consecutive day, Robert Lee Carter II heard a judge deny bond on a list of charges against him.
On Tuesday, Thomas County Magistrate Roy Lilly Jr. informed Carter of charges stemming from a Friday incident in which an Ochlocknee family was bound and held hostage.

After Lilly informed Carter of his court-related rights, the hostage shook his head no when the judge asked him if he had any questions before the charges were read.
“I don’t want you to feel that you did not get verification on everything,” Lilly told Carter.
Charges and maximum penalties read Tuesay are:
• First-degree burglary, one to 20 years in prison.
• Three counts false imprisonment, one to 20 years on each count.
• Three counts kidnapping, 10 to 20 years on each court.

• Three counts of aggravated assault in which a replica of a Smith & Wesson Model 1911 was used, one to 20 years.
• Armed robbery in which a debit card was taken using a replica Smith & Wesson Model 1911, life in prison
• Armed robbery in which a bank card was taken using a replica Smith & Wesson Model 1911, life in prison.
• Aggravated sexual battery, minimum of 25 years to life.
Catherine Smith, assistant district attorney, told Lilly more charges on Carter are under consideration.
