MOULTRIE, Ga. — Colquitt County school bus drivers and school administrators recently trained in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, a framework for teaching students behavioral expectations and rules, acknowledging them when they meet those expectations, and effectively responding to problem behaviors.

“Our BUS expectations are for our students to Be Respectful, Use Self-Control, and Be Safe at all times while in the care of our transportation professionals,” the school system said in a press release. “Anything parents can do to reinforce these BUS expectations is greatly appreciated.”

The drivers and administrators also went through training by Stewards of Children. Stewards of Children teaches how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. Child sexual abuse is likely the most prevalent health problem children face, with the most serious consequences. In fact, 1 in 10 children will experience sexual abuse before their 18th birthday, the school system said.
