MOULTRIE, Ga. — A traffic stop conducted on a car with a defective headlight resulted in drug charges for the driver early Saturday morning.
At 4:10 a.m. a Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office deputy spotted the 2008 Ford Ranger on Highway 133 South near Norman Estates Road.
Observing the headlight was out and the blinker assembly missing on the passenger side, the officer turned around but the driver accelerated and turned onto Old Adel Road.
A short time later the deputy caught up with the car in the 2800 block of Old Adel Road.
The driver, Marlyn Jermaine Spradley, had a suspended license, the deputy’s report said. During the stop police found suspected methamphetamine and marijuana in the car.
Spradley, 857 Sardis Church Road, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, obstruction of a police officer and driving while license suspended.
