Hospital to hold Men’s Health Challenge

DALTON, Ga. — Screenings, sports and fitness challenges, and prizes will be part of Hamilton Medical Center’s Men’s Health Challenge on Saturday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Bradley Wellness Center (BWC). The event is free. The screenings will include cholesterol, glucose, thyroid, PSA, vision, colorectal cancer, hearing and blood pressure. Also, Dr. Charles Idom Jr., Dr. Joseph Veys and Dr. Eduardo Rojas will provide a prostate presentation at 9 a.m. in the BWC classroom. Prostate exams (recommended for men over 40) will be provided. Screening participation is limited. “We’re hoping you’ll choose to be a ‘health hero’ by taking care of your health for yourself and those who love you,” said Rachel Ogle, marketing outreach manager for Hamilton Health Care System. If you need assistance with interpretation services and/or auxiliary aids, please indicate when registering. Tractor Supply to host Fall Farmers Market

LIVE OAK, Fla. — The Live Oak Tractor Supply store is hosting a community Farmers Market later this month.  

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 22, local farmers, crafters and artisans will be selling homemade and homegrown goods at the store, located at 207 72nd Trace NE.

According to store manager Sonya McKenna, there’s no better way to celebrate the fall harvest season in the Live Oak area. 

“Farmers markets are a great way to highlight skills, foster community relationships and support neighbors,” McKenna said in a release. “We are excited to provide a platform for our customers to showcase their homemade and homegrown goods.”

Local goods for sale will be displayed in tented areas in front of the store. Participating vendors include Glass by Suzanne and Pinkerton’s Puppies.
