Investigators say burglary caught on camera
MOULTRIE, Ga. — A burglary suspect targeted the wrong house on Tuesday morning as surveillance cameras helped put him behind bars the next day. Police say that the video cameras showed Cedric Antonio Jones and his car at the residence in the 1200 block of U.S. Highway 319 South where two large flat-screen televisions were stolen. “(The burglar) went in through the utility room window,” Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Ronald Jordan said Thursday. “However, they had video surveillance of the burglary, (so) we were able to solve it.” The burglary occurred at about 7:45 a.m. Tuesday and Jones was taken into custody at about 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jordan said. The televisions had not been recovered. Jones, 35, 159 Shady Grove Road, was charged with burglary and possession of tools for the commission of a crime. Jones is accused of having a screwdriver at the time of the burglary, which accounts for the latter count.
