Despite an 0-5 record, the Trojans sit in sixth place in Class 1A-Region 3 with an average of 35.80 points earned per game. The top six from that nine-team region advance to the playoffs.

HCHS has been bolstered by scheduling some recent playoff teams and also facing teams with good records. Hamilton has faced four current Category 1 teams — Chiefland, The Villages Charter, Jefferson County and Baldwin — as well as 3-2 Suwannee (currently Category 2).

Lafayette (40.17) remains in fourth place in Class 1A-Region 3 for the second straight week. Chiefland (42.8), Madison County (41.67) and Dixie County (41.67) are ahead of LHS and own the top three spots in the region. Branford, which was in the sixth spot in last week’s initial power rankings, dropped to seventh in the Class 1A-Region 3.

Following a win against Stanton Prep, Suwannee moved up one spot in Class 5A-Region 1 from last week’s power rankings, going from ninth position to eighth.

In Classes 5A-8A, eight teams from each region advance — four district champs and four wild card winners.
