Jon Michael Ryce to hold book signing Saturday

Jon Michael Ryce will hold a book signing for "These Words," his first publication, 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the Ryce Community Center, 305 Seventh St. N.W.

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Colquitt County native Jon Michael Ryce will hold a book signing for the release of his first publication, a book of poems titled “These Words.” The event will be held 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Ryce Community Center, located at 305 Seventh St. N.W. in Moultrie.

Ryce is a graduate of Fort Valley State University, and a 2003 graduate of Colquitt County High School. He is currently serving communities in the Northeast Georgia region by helping to prepare dedicated individuals to successfully transition to the workforce, military, or gain higher levels of education and/or training. Prior to moving into this capacity, he was a college and career counselor at a high school for four years, where he assisted students to develop post-graduation plans.

Ryce has dedicated his time, talent, and resources to the philosophy that “Nothing works unless you do,” according to a press release.

“‘These Words,’ from start to finish, is a unique perspective on life and love that allows the reader to easily follow,” the press release said. “As a poet, Mr. Ryce seeks to spark a conversation about topics that we face in our everyday lives. This promising first collection will surely be an enjoyable read and one that anyone can relate, enjoy, and will feel compelled to share with others.”

The book signing is open to the public.
