MOULTRIE, Ga. — Police are seeking a suspect in one shooting incident that wounded a Moultrie man and are investigating two others, one of which also resulted in a victim being struck by a bullet.

Moultrie police have identified Kainane Williams, 24, as the suspect in an Oct. 28 shooting in which Dajon Bouldin was struck in the leg by a bullet.

Police were dispatched at about 8:24 a.m. to an apartment complex on 31st Avenue Southeast. While on the way they learned that Bouldin had been taken to the nearby Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

“(While) coming out of the house, taking the trash out he saw a white (Dodge) Charger in the parking lot driving slow,” Moultrie Police Department Sgt. Eric Hill said. “The driver opened his window and opened fire.”

Bouldin ran back to his apartment, Hill said.

“Once he got back in the house he realized he had been shot in the leg,” he said.

Bouldin told police that he and Williams had several “run-ins” prior to the shooting.

Police have taken arrest warrants charging Williams with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

On Oct. 31 another shooting victim reported a separate assault to a police officer who was nearby making a traffic stop at the time.

The officer heard what appeared to be gunshots at about 12:53 a.m. while out on the traffic stop near the intersection of West Central Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

“A few minutes later a car pulls up to the traffic stop,” police Lt. Freddie Williams said. “It was riddled with bullets. Zytreckius Ellis was a passenger in the vehicle. Ellis had been shot in the back.”

The woman driving the car was taking Ellis to the hospital when she stopped to speak with the officer.

Ellis told police that he and the woman were at his residence in the 700 block of Sixth Street Northwest at the time of the shooting.

“Ellis said him and the female driver were sitting outside his residence when they heard gunshots and realized they were being shot at,” Williams said.

Ellis has been released from the hospital, he said.

Police ask that anyone who has information about Williams’ whereabouts or about Ellis’ shooting to contact investigators at (229) 890-5449. Callers can remain anonymous.

In the third incident, an armed group attempted a home invasion on Thursday at a residence in the 500 block of 11th Court Southeast.

At about 12:55 a.m. Terry Anderson reported that a group of people attempted to get in and then shot the residence when they were unsuccessful.

“They knocked on the door,” Williams said. “When he opened the door they tried to force their way in. He locked the door and was able to keep them out.”

At least two firearms were then fired, Williams said.

“They shot up the house,” he said.
