MOULTRIE, Ga. — Two people were taken to the hospital after dozens of shots were fired at Shy Manor Apartments on Christmas evening.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation did not release the names or ages of the victims on Wednesday but said both were males. One was treated and later released from Colquitt Regional Medical Center while the other was taken to an out-of-town hospital for more critical treatment, according to Jamy Steinberg, special agent in charge of the GBI’s Thomasville office.

The GBI was called about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday to assist Moultrie police in their investigation, Steinberg said.

The crime scene examination found more than 50 shell casings of varying calibers at two separate locations on the Shy Manor property, Steinberg said. Shy Manor is located in the 800 block of Northside Drive at Shy Manor Drive in Moultrie, across Northside Drive from C.A. Gray Junior High School.

GBI agents and Moultrie police detectives interviewed witnesses and located additional vehicles that had been shot that were determined to be involved in the incident, Steinberg said. Agents and detectives were still conducting interviews late Wednesday morning.
