Store clerk robbed at gunpoint

MOULTRIE, Ga. — A convenience store clerk was ambushed Wednesday night outside the business by two gunmen who forced him to turn over the money from the cash register.
The robbery happened between 9:30 and 10 p.m. at U.S. Food Mart, located at the intersection of South Main Street and 31st Avenue Southwest, according to police.

“Two subjects basically came up to the store,” Moultrie Police Department Maj. Tonero Bender said. “The clerk was taking out the trash. Two men pointed guns at him. They escorted the clerk back into the store.”
After the robbers, each armed with a pistol, forced the employee back inside,
“One subject stood at the door,” Bender said. “One went inside and demanded money from the cash register.”
The two men got away with an undetermined amount of money, he said.
