MOULTRIE, Ga —

Traffic problem: “The traffic at Hamilton School in the morning is ridiculous. Someone is going to get killed or hurt. School officials and sheriff, please handle this.

Applause

“I want to add my kudos to the faculty and staff of Sunset School. This school is a completely different place than years past. Everyone seems to be smiling and thrilled to work with my child. My child is in kindergarten and is already reading chapter books. This was not happening before this year! Thanks Sunset!

Just curious

“In response to the commentary about Christians and adultery. I’m curious as to why you addressed this primarily to Christians? You must know specifically and will assume that the person you are addressing will read the commentary and know that you know.

Roundabouts

“I read some statistics that say roundabouts have greatly reduced collisions at intersections. I realize they are expensive to build but then if it’s your life or that of a loved one, what’s a life worth to you. For that matter, anyone’s life.

Bully pulpit

“I was not impressed at all with Trump’s inaugural speech. It was the least presidential I’ve ever heard. Apparently he has embraced the “bully pulpit” concept literally.

No we don’t

“In response to the ranter who said we should do like that Arizona sheriff and just put up barracks, tents and razor wire. Maybe you haven’t kept up with that sheriff’s escapades but he has been under quite a bit of scrutiny lately. And no, we don’t need to put up a ‘prisoner of war’ camp.

Observation

“I can tell you why the jail is so full. A person is put on probation for a minor drug offense. He or she is then required to go to counseling at certain times via various programs. And they must pay fines. First off, most of them don’t have a vehicle to get to the treatment. They can’t get a job to pay the fine, so they steal stuff to sell. Eventually they are arrested again and the cycle goes on. So what’s to be done?

We are proud

“We are proud of our Art Center. And keep in mind that at one point that former school building was going to be torn down. Applause to those who in the beginning saw the potential and cause what we now enjoy to happen!

Be thankful

“I heard someone complaining because his power was off for several hours and  he missed the ballgame. Hey, you still have your  house, your car and your other belongings. Most importantly you have your life and the lives of your loved ones. Some people were not that fortunate. They lost family and their homes. We were lucky in Colquitt County because the damage was minor. Be thankful for that.
