MOULTRIE, Ga. — Thieves made off with thousands of dollars worth of property over the weekend, including $23,000 worth of equipment and tools from a Norman Park man.

Kenneth Keigans, of the 600 block of Roundtree Bridge Road, reported to the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office that between noon Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday someone took his zero-turn riding lawn mower, small tractor and tool box containing $2,000 worth of tools.

In all, Keigans estimated the value of the stolen property at $23,000.

In other thefts

• Kathy Ardiano, 100 block East Gate Way, reported Sunday the theft of a 1999 Pontiac Bonnevile valued at $300.

Ardiano told police that the car, which was not operational, was parked at a tenant’s residence in the 1000 block of Darbyshire Road.

The tenant, Robert Tucker, told police that in December a man asked about the car and he referred him to Ardiano. A few days later the man returned, told him that he’d purchased it and took the key, and later removed the car.

• Kenneth Harrington, 500 block Jim Clark Road, Omega, reported Saturday the theft of a mountain bike valued at $150.

• Chad Carruthers, 200 block Tucker Lane, reported Saturday the theft of an Apple iPhone 4S of unknown value.

• John Paul Williams, 200 block Old Albany Road, reported Saturday the theft of two Yeti coolers and a Streamlight flashlight with a total value of $750.

• Christina DeMott, 4800 block Tallokas Road, reported Saturday the theft of three checks from her bank account were stolen from a Chevrolet Tahoe parked in the 200 block of DeMott Road.

• Jonathan Kyle Jones, 33, 1322 Edgewood Drive, Valdosta, was charged Saturday with driving under the influence (test refusal), reckless driving, driving while license withdrawn and open container in vehicle.

• Gloria Nichelle James, 25, 310-A Seventh Ave. N.W., was charged Sunday with duty to obey police officer.

• Tony Bernard Coates, 48, 127 Fifth St. S.E., was charged Thursday with interference with government property, simple battery, failure to appear, criminal trespass and theft by shoplifting.

• Wy-Shauna Angelique Allen, 27, 717 Fourth St. N.W. Apt. B, was charged Friday with driving while license withdrawn.
