TALLAHASSEE Fla. —Business and community leaders from the Moultrie and Thomasville area went “behind bars” for a great cause during the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s Lock-Up fundraising event on March 8 and 9, raising over $60,000 for kids and adults with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle-debilitating diseases that take away physical strength and mobility.

Chief Troy Rich with the Thomasville Police Department and John Taylor with Taylor Benefit Resource are just some of the community leaders that volunteered to get “locked up” as part of the event held at SASS-The Restaurant in Thomasville and at Blue Sky Grill in Moultrie. Each participant raised bail – or donations – by encouraging their friends, family and colleagues to contribute to MDA’s life-saving mission.

“We had an amazing group of jailbirds for our Lock-Up event and we’re so grateful for their participation,” said Crystal Ralys, senior fundraising coordinator.
