MOULTRIE, Ga. — Looking to spruce up your home or garden? Maybe you need a new piece of jewelry to complement your Easter dress? Well you can find these things and much more at the Spring Calico Arts and Crafts Show Saturday and Sunday, March 18 and 19.

Located in at Spence Field, this one-stop shopping extravaganza allows one the opportunity to shop among a variety of artisans and craftsmen offering one-of-a-kind handmade crafts, according to a Calico press release. It’s just in time to prepare for Easter, Mother’s Day, spring weddings and graduations.

Rhonda Griffin Fine Art is the booth to visit to find that perfect piece of art to adorn your walls. You can find bright colorful paintings of some of South Georgia’s prize commodities including cotton, peanuts, watermelon and peaches. Griffin’s three-dimensional sand dollar paintings can bring new life to any beach home or beach-themed room, the press release said.

If you want to add a new birdhouse to your garden then first time Calico crafters Allison and Jeff Lawrence have something for you. The Lawrences’ whimsical birdhouses are functional and fun. But what makes them unique is they are all made from clay. Lawrence Pottery also offers handmade bird feeders, bowls and mugs.

Returning this spring is one of Calico’s most popular and fun crafters, LaSean Spencer from Opelika and owner of Puppet Play.

“LaSean’s bright, colorful and cute handmade puppets will make any child or adult feel like a true puppeteer,” the press release said. “Her fun characters remind visitors of some of Jim Henson’s original creations. Stop by her booth and purchase a gift that will complete the perfect Easter basket.”

A cornhole game adds fun to any gathering. Carol McNeal makes a wide variety of cornhole bags, including most SEC teams. Choose unfinished regulation size or kid size cornhole boards along with the cornhole bags for the perfect Father or Mother’s Day gift.

From plain to extravagant you’ll find one-of-a-kind creations for every budget including handcrafted jewelry, wood, glass, photography, candles, woven baskets, clothing, toys, primitive art and specialty foods. Accessories for your home and garden offered at the show include wrought iron, decorative wreaths, garden statuary, birdhouses, outdoor furniture, pottery and wind chimes.

Food vendors offer a wide variety of choices. Sit down in the food court area and enjoy performers on the entertainment stage headlined by Sudden Impact Cloggers.

The Moultrie-Colquitt County Humane Society will also be on-site adopting out furry “furever” friends all day Saturday.
