MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Moultrie man wanted on an outstanding probation warrant was arrested after police found him Wednesday at the site of a reported domestic dispute.
At about 11 p.m. officers were sent to investigate the call at the 1208 13th St. S.W. residence
When police arrived two males were standing in the doorway. Officers asked Estella Chavez, the mother of the man they were seeking, to go outside while they conducted a search for anyone who may have been injured inside as well as for Jose Alfredo Ramos, for whom there was an outstanding warrant in an unrelated matter.
Inside, police found Rufino Ramos, who had scratches on his neck and a bruised forehead. He and other family members told police that there was no one else inside the apartment.
However, in further searching police turned up Jose Alfredo Ramos, who was in a bathroom where the shower was running, and he identified himself as Jose to an officer.
Rufino Ramos initially told police that he had inflicted the injuries on himself. In a later statement he reported that Jose Ramos always was eating all of the food, forcing him to go to bed hungry. Rufino Ramos told police that Jose Ramos hit him and that started a fight.
He did not want to press charges in the incident, but the deputy arrested Jose Ramos on the outstanding felony probation warrant.
Ramos was indicted on a child molestation charge in 2015. He entered a guilty plea to felony cruelty to children in the case and was not sentenced to prison.
