MOULTRIE, Ga. — On consecutive days this week police made marijuana arrests of Colquitt County High School students, with a 16-year-old also charged with possession of a knife in one of the incidents.

At about 1:35 p.m. on Wednesday, school officials alerted an officer assigned to the 105 Darbyshire Road campus of a marijuana odor coming from a first-floor bathroom, according to Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office reports.

The officer did not find any illegal substances in the bathroom. Later two male students were identified as those who were smoking. Administrators searched the students.

In one of those student’s backpacks police found a bag containing suspected marijuana and a knife, police said. No illegal substances were found on the other student.

Police charged the 16-year-old boy with possession of marijuana and possession of a weapon on a school campus.

At about 2:30 Tuesday the school notified an officer that a 15-year-old girl had been caught with a suspected illegal substance.

She was charged with possession of marijuana.

• Austin Ryan McMurphy, 23, was charged Saturday with fleeing or attempting to elude police officer, possession of drug-related object, possession of methamphetamine, reckless driving and two counts probation violation.

• Osmel Ayala Cruz, 32, 713 McElroy Rod, was charged Monday with criminal trespass.

• Bruce Arthur Ritter, 52, 500 Walnut Drive, Thomasville, was charged Wednesday with harassing communications.

• Marion Richard Sanderson, 62, 502 Aubrey Sutton Road, Lenox, was charged Wednesday with no insurance.

Moultrie Police

• Alexander Tyler Pitts, 20, 410 E. Central Ave., was charged Monday with simple battery.

• Mario Dwight Haynes, 26, 223 Third St. N.W., and Keena Shavaar Martin, 32, 221-D Sixth Street N.W., were each charged Wednesday with possession of marijuana.

Moultrie Police

• Michelle Hart Treon, 30, 4598 Bay Rockyford Road, Coolidge, was charged Wednesday with probation violation.
