MOULTRIE, Ga. — Law enforcement has identified the victims of a Wednesday morning car crash.
Esther LaRosa Falcon, 44, of West Palm Beach, Fla., was the driver of a Toyota Camry that pulled in front of an SUV on Cool Springs Road, the Georgia State Patrol said Thursday. She died from injuries she received in the crash.
The Camry was headed south on R.L. Sears Road just before 8 a.m., the GSP said, and either did not stop at the stop sign or pulled from it into the path of a Ford Explorer approaching the intersection from the east.
The driver of the Explorer, Lee Ann Chafin of Moultrie, told the trooper she had no time to react. The SUV struck the Camry on the driver’s door, the GSP said.
Two passengers in the Camry were seriously hurt.
A spokeswoman for Archbold Memorial Hospital said Thursday that Tania Escalona Garcia, 47, of Moultrie, is in serious condition, while Mercedes Perez Bermudez, also 47, of Moultrie, is in fair condition.
Chafin and two young children in her SUV suffered minor injuries, the GSP said.
