Based in Macon, Big Mike and the Booty Papas are an international blues sensation. They have been nominated for a Best New Blues Artist and Best Contemporary Blues Album Grammy. The son of a Navy sailor, Big Mike spent his childhood moving all over the country, meeting new people, and experiencing different types of music. Musical talent runs in the family — Mike’s grandmother played guitar and his mother and sisters sang along, creating a family-band of sorts.

Mike gave his first public performance as a wise man in his fifth grade Christmas pageant; he was 12 years old and he was hooked. It was then that he realized no matter what city or state he was in, he had found his home on stage with music.

Don’t miss this world class performance right in the heart of Downtown Thomasville! First Friday concerts are always free and open to the public. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and join the fun in Downtown Thomasville at the corner of Remington Avenue and Broad Street!
