President’s List
KENNESAW, Ga. — Savana Chapman of Moultrie was recently named to the President’s List at Kennesaw State University.
Chapman was among the close to 3,000 Kennesaw State students who were honored for academic excellence in the Fall 2016 semester. University President Samuel S. Olens recognized the students for earning top marks.
To achieve the honor of being on the President’s List, each student must have satisfactorily completed at least 9 semester hours with a term grade point average of 4.0.
Dean’s List
KENNESAW, Ga. — Kennesaw State University congratulates the nearly 6,000 students who were named to the Fall 2016 Dean’s List. Students named to the Dean’s List were enrolled in at least 9 credit hours of courses and earned a grade point average of at least 3.5.

Congressional Art Competition
PERRY, Ga. — Amber Moore of Colquitt County High School received an Honorable Mention in the 2017 Congressional Art Competition for her work, “A Long Day.”
Rep. Austin Scott, R-Ga., announced winners of the Eighth District competition April 9 at an awards reception at Perry Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The grand prize winner — Ramiro Santillan from Lowndes High School — will be eligible for scholarships and receives airfare to Washington, D.C., where his piece will hang in the United States Capitol for one year. The second and third place award recipients — Alyssa Marie Davis from Lowndes High School and Diana Pashkevych from Telfair County High School, respectively — will have the opportunity to display their artworks in Scott’s Warner Robins and Tifton offices.

DAHLONEGA, Ga. — Recent awards ceremonies on the University of North Georgia’s (UNG) Dahlonega, Gainesville and Oconee campuses recognized more than 300 students for excellence, including John May of Berlin, Ga., who was recognized for earning the Siler Scholar.
“It’s important that we take time to recognize those students who are going above and beyond in their efforts to advance their academic careers and who are taking full advantage of UNG’s mission to develop students into leaders for a diverse and global society,” said Dr. Tom Ormond, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs. “The number and scope of awards presented this year is a testament to how our students continue to raise the bar in their scholastic pursuits.”
Held April 10, 11 and 13, the Student Honors and Awards ceremonies included a wide variety of awards designed to recognize academics, community engagement, leadership, student involvement, and other achievements.
Grantham University
LENEXA, Kan. — Grantham University recently announced its March local graduates of the university’s online degree and certificate programs:
