Walker to speak Sunday at Mission Society Anniversary

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Union Missionary Baptist Church will host its Mission Society Anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 23.
The guest speaker will be Pheadra Walker, a native of Moultrie. She was born to Raymond L. Hill of Albany and Christine Hill, currently of Columbia, S.C.
She joined Mother Easter Baptist Church and was baptized in 1975.
She received her early childhood education in Moultrie and graduated from the Colquitt County School System in 1988. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Fla.; Middle Grades Teaching Certification from Albany State University; and an Associate of Science degree in diagnostic medical sonography from Darton State College in Albany. She has been employed as a science teacher by the Colquitt County School System since 1998.
Walker is an active member at Mother Easter Baptist Church, where she serves as chairman of the Board of Deaconess and is active in several ministries of the church.
She has been married to Deacon Demetrius Walker Sr. for 21 years. Together they have three sons: Demetrius II, Cameron and Ishmael (deceased).
