An article in Thursday’s Moultrie Observer contained several minor errors.

Charged with drug offenses was Johnny R. McNeal, 19, 381 Lakeview Acres Drive, whose name was misspelled.

McNeal was not the driver of the 2003 Ford Mustang that was pulled over by Colquitt County sheriff’s investigators Tuesday. He was the front-seat passenger, according to a sheriff’s office report released Thursday. The driver was released without any charges.

The report said marijuana debris was found around the seat where McNeal was sitting, so deputies searched him. When they found a digital scale, he allegedly began to resist, the report said.

As he tried to get away, two deputies suffered minor injuries restraining him, and McNeal was scraped up too. His wounds were examined by the jail nurse, the report said, not Colquitt Regional EMTs as was initially reported.
