MOULTRIE, Ga. — Police making a traffic stop on a car with an expired tag arrested both the driver and his passenger after finding suspected methamphetamine in the vehicle.
Officers stopped the car driven by Timmy Wayne Martin Jr. just before 2 p.m. near the intersection of 26th Avenue Southeast and Veterans Parkway South.
Police arrested Martin, 36, for the license violation, Moultrie Police Department Lt. Raul Leal said.
“While searching they located a pill container containing suspected crystal meth,” Leal said. “They found another bag in the car.”
Leal did not know the total amount of the substance found in the car and medication bottle.
Martin, 36, 54 Spruce Lane, Thomasville, and passenger Laura Cathlene Gist, 48, 19574 U.S. Highway 319 N., Coolidge, were each charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
In addition, Martin also was charged with expired vehicle tag or decal and driving while license withdrawn, and Gist was charged with open container in vehicle.
