Multiple DUI, traffic arrests made

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Traffic enforcement kept police occupied over the weekend, with officers with two local agencies and the Georgia State Patrol making multiple arrests for DUI and driving without a license.

Among those arrested by the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Officer were:

• Chasity Renee Truelove, 37, 1067 Cool Springs Road, Doerun, was  charged Saturday with driving under the influence, driving while license withdrawn and failure to drive within single lane.

A deputy arrested Truelove after police received a report of a suspicious car parked in a yard near Kendalwood Church and Dunn roads shortly before 11 p.m. The caller followed the white Ford Super Duty pickup truck until the officer was able to get behind it.

The truck  crossed the fog line, police said, and Truelove was driving 30 miles per hour in a 55 zone. Because Truelove was slow to respond to questions, unsteady on her feet and slurring her speech, the officer asked whether she had drunk any alcohol or taken any medication.

Truelove told the officer that she had taken a prescription drug and that she was impaired to safely drive on the roadway.

• Fernando Torres, 21 Riverlake Road, was charged Friday with driving without license.

• Jose Luis Jiminez, 36, 112 Overlook Drive, was charged Friday with driving under the influence, open container in vehicle and failure to drive within single lane.

• Celso Patricio-Ramirez, 36, 169 Sleepy Bear Road, was charged Wednesday with driving under the influence, driving without license and impeding traffic flow.

Berlin Police

• Bonfillo Santiago Ruiz, 22, 190 Green St., was charged Friday with driving without license and speeding in highway work zone.

Doerun Police

• Eddie James Cole, 56, 120 31st Ave. N.E., was charged Friday with driving under the influence, open container in vehicle and failure top drive within single lane.

Moultrie Police

• Douglas Lynn Buckner, 38, 6766 Bay Rodkyford Road, was charged Sunday with driving while license withdrawn.

• Elyse Evelyn Sinclair, 28, 807 Fourth Ave. S.W., was charged Sunday with no insurance and driving without license.

• James Michael Wilson, 39, 2222 Baker Road, Coolidge, was charged Saturday with driving while license withdrawn and speeding.

• Vickie Celma Stripling, 49, 206-B Tallokas Estates, was charged Saturday with criminal trespass.

• Dontavious Walden, 21, 912 Third Ave. S.W., was charged Thursday with battery,

Georgia State Patrol

• Alejandro Santos, 58, 3202 Albert Drive, Tallahassee, Fla., was charged Saturday with driving without license.

• Tommie Lee Hill, 47, 1644 Holden Ave. Apt. 201, Orlando, Fla., was charged Friday with driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, open container in vehicle and following too closely.

• Gregory Joel Tillman, 47, 993 U.S. Hwy. 319 S.

• Christopher Daniel Bozeman, 24, 352 Rossman Dairy Road.

Fraud

Sheriff’s Office

• Langdale Powersports, 795 Veterans Parkway N., reported Friday that on March 25 a customer paid for a Honda four-wheeler with a bad check written for $5,300

An employee told police the customer had said on several occasions that he would transfer funds into the account but had not done so.

Battery

Sheriff’s Office

• Thomas Lamb, 600 block Shorty B Road, Hartsfield, reported Saturday that a male relative pushed his daughter, Brandi Romero, after he became angry at her.

Police arrested Thomas Lamar Lamb, 652 Shorty B Road, and charged him with simple battery. Lamb told police that ht did not push his sister, but that he “bumped her with his chest.”

• Daryl McDuffie, 100 block Cherry Avenue, reported Friday that acquaintance pushed him, bruising his arm.

When Shawn Griffin intervened by grabbing the man, he hit Griffin in the face with a board.

Shawn Morris told police that one of the other men had attacked him. After the three had calmed down, the officer left.  When McDuffie called later to report more trouble the deputy who responded told him that police would make multiple arrests if they had to return a third time.

• Nikki Robinson, 700 block Sumner Road, reported Friday that a male companion pushed her multiple times after he locked her out of their residence.

Robinson told police that the argument started when she refused to let her boyfriend use her phone. When she tried to get back in to get her child, the man pushed her.

Deon Maurice Collins told police that he shoved Robinson twice and police arrested him on a simple battery/domestic violence charge.

Property damage

• Jennifer McMurphy 1800 block Third Street Southeast, reported Friday that someone scratched her 2008 Mazda 6 while it was parked in the 300 block of North Veterans Parkway North.

Moultrie Police

• Paul Dawson, 400 block 11th Court Northwest, reported Friday that a female acquaintance broke a window of his residence during an argument.
