MOULTRIE, Ga. — Summer reading programs aren’t just for kids anymore. The Moultrie Library will offer opportunities for adults to participate in Georgia’s collaborative reading program Build a Better World. There will be special programing and an adult-only reading incentive opportunity.

MCCLS Summer Reading Bingo is a self-directed summer reading game for adults complete with an end-of-summer prize drawing. Patrons may pick up a bingo card from the Moultrie Library, the Doerun Library, or the Book Mobile. The challenge begins June 1 and ends on Aug. 31. Completed cards may be turned into one of the libraries. Each completed card serves as a ticket for a drawing of special library prizes. Winners will be announced Sept. 6.

Other events are planned throughout the month, too.

On Saturday, June 3, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., a Defensive Driving Course will be offered by AAA-certified instructor Elvis Christain. Christain has been training drivers for 35 years.

The class is designed to meet the information needs and interest of local drivers, the library said in a press release. Drivers who successfully complete the class may be eligible to receive insurance premium discounts. Each particpant should check with their own insurance company to ensure the company will honor this training.

We will explore plans for continuing a needle craft group as a regular part of the library’s programing. The event is free and registration is not required.”
