Behavioral Health open house answers community questions about services

TIFTON — Behavioral Health Services of South Georgia Tifton clinic held an open house May 19 for the community come and get information about their services.
The open house was in recognition of mental health awareness and recovery month.

Among those who attended were community leaders, nurses and patient advocates.
Each type of service had a board set up that explained what the service was and how it impacts the community.
There were staff members on hand to answer any questions and talk with attendees about services.
The Tifton clinic has been serving Tift, Irwin, Ben Hill and Turner counties for more than 20 years, and is part of Behavioral Services of South Georgia, which also operates clinics in Lowndes and Cook counties.
Behavioral Health Services of South Georgia is a Community Service Board and provides a range of services to children, adults and families with substance use and mental illness disorders and individuals with developmental disabilities. These services are contracted through the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities.
