MOULTRIE, Ga. — Colquitt County Commissioner Marc DeMott was among those installed recently to serve on the management board of the Association County Commissioners of Georgia.
DeMott was sworn in to serve on the 2017-2018 Board of Managers for the organization, representing the 10th District, which includes Baker, Calhoun, Colquitt, Decatur, Dougherty, Early, Grady, Lee, Miller, Mitchell, Seminole, Thomas, Terrell, Thomas and Worth counties.
Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black joined ACCG, Georgia’s county association, at the 2017 Annual Conference that was held from April 28 to May 1 in Savannah, Georgia. He offered the installation address and welcomed appointed members to serve on the 2017-2018.
“The Board of Managers serves as the foundation of the association, working effortlessly to ensure we adhere to the four pillars ACCG was built upon while guiding us through our next century of service,” said Executive Director Ross King. “The role the board plays is invaluable. Each leader represents the solidarity that is ACCG and, ultimately, the solidarity that is county government.”
DeMott was elected to the Colquitt County Commission District 3 in 2014 and took office Jan. 1, 2015. He became a certified county commissioner in his first year and also serves on the Economic Development and Transportation committee of ACCG. DeMott has previously served as Georgia state chairman of Ducks Unlimited, chairman of the Moultrie-Colquitt County Chamber of Commerce and president of the Colquitt County United Way. He is currently employed as senior vice president of Ameris Bank in Moultrie.
“I am honored and humbled to serve as the representative of the 10th district,” DeMott said. “I look forward to working with my fellow board members as we continue our efforts to advance Georgia.”
