TIFTON — Two Tift County Lady Devils were given Character awards at last week’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes basketball camp at Albany.
Ke’Ara Chukes and Keisha Jackson were named to the squad, which consisted of 10 players chosen from the seven teams who participated at the camp, according to Larry Poole, an area representative for the FCA. Both Chukes and Jackson will be juniors for Tift for the 2017-18 season.
Tift head coach Julie Conner called it “a big honor” for her players.
She said coaches selected the winners. Poole added that coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players.
Tift and Echols County were the only two attending teams with more than one pick. Westover, Baker County, Cook, Cairo and Maynard Jackson each had one player chosen.
The Lady Devils were to participate in another FCA camp Thursday and today.
