MOULTRIE, Ga. — Shane Jacobs, sponsored by the United Way of Colquitt County, began attending Green Oaks in 2007 with one of his goals being the desire to drive. Although Jacobs had difficulty reading and writing, he worked diligently on studying road signs with assistance from Green Oaks staff, family members, and a tutor. His efforts and hard work paid off when he recently obtained his driver’s license and purchased his own vehicle.

Jacobs is employed full time with the Green Oaks Center lawn crew and is now using the staff parking lot.
