THOMASVILLE — A Coolidge man is facing a child molestation charge and other charges after a family friend of the victim reported the incident to the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office, according to authorities.
Matthew Olson, 98 Eric Hall Rd., was arrested Aug. 23.
According to Thomas County Sheriff’s Office Chief Investigator Lt. Tim Watkins, the victim’s family was notified after the incident was reported to law enforcement.
A forensic interview was conducted at The Treehouse.
The victim disclosed activity between her and Olson over the summer, according to Watkins.
“The charges are based on the child’s very detailed forensic interview,” Watkins said.
“We were able to verify a lot of the facts in her statement,” the chief investigator added.
Olson also is charged with enticing a child for indecent purposes and statutory rape.
