CCHS teacher honored for AP instruction

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Dana Cook, head of the Colquitt County High School Mathematics Department, has been honored with the John Neff Award.
The award is presented to a mathematics teacher who has taught Advanced Placement calculus and/or AP atatistics for at least five years, contributed to the teaching of AP mathematics beyond their classroom, and has demonstrated excellent teaching within their classroom.
Cook is in her 22nd year of teaching at CCHS and has taught AP calculus for the past 15 years. She is also a Move On When Ready instructor.
She has helped implement vertical teaming in Colquitt County Schools, served as a facilitator for an AP calculus workshop serving AP teachers across south Georgia, has been invited to serve on a statewide review committee of the Georgia Standards of Excellence, and has been chosen STAR Teacher multiple times.
