MOULTRIE, Ga. — At the October meeting of the Colquitt County Retired Educators Association, Principal Tret Witherspoon of Stringfellow Elementary School presented an original pencil drawing of the school from the 1905-1976 era to the Museum of Colquitt County History.

The artist, Jean Gay, is a lifetime resident of Colquitt County.

In 1905 the three-story brick building with majestic columns was built in the 400 block of First Street Southwest. In 1970 it was replaced by Stringfellow Elementary School, named to honor a beloved principal, Jackie Rhoden Stringfellow.
