MOULTRIE — Law enforcement racked up several arrests on drug charges this week, with most of those involving small quantities of crystal meth.
On Thursday, sheriff’s deputies and Moultrie police went to a 892 Cook Road residence acting on a tip that a woman with active warrants would be there with methamphetamine in her possession.
Officers found the suspect, Kristy Ann McDaniel, in the bathroom of the residence. Inside an agent with Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Team found suspected methamphetamine, police said.
Officers also arrested Kyle Nathan Dickerson, 20, 223 Bonnie Tuk Road. He and McDaniel, 32, were each charged with possession of methamphetamine. Dickerson also was charged with possession of drug-related objects.
During a Monday night traffic stop Moultrie police arrested the passenger in a 2006 Scion XB whose driver was traveling too fast for road conditions, Inv. Freddie Williams said.
“She was driving too fast for conditions and almost hit an officer,” he said.
During the investigation conducted after they stopped the car, police said they found a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine and that it was linked to Ga-Miveya Monyale Dozier.
The driver, Amber Spring Carter, also had some type of suspicious substance, but tests on it were inconclusive, Williams said.
“Carter was released pending results from the (Georgia Bureau of Investigation) crime lab,” he said.
Police issued citations to Carter, 31, on charges of too fast for conditions and seat belt violation. They arrested Dozier, 22, who was charged with possession of methamphetamine.
Also on Monday police arrested Ricky Lewis Forrest, 26, and charged him with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and obstruction of a police officer.
“Officers were out talking to him at a vehicle he was in possession of that was going to be repossessed,” Williams said. “He asked to retrieve some items. He reached into the center console, took (something) out and attempted to get rid of it.”
Police recovered the item and discovered a small amount of suspected cocaine and marijuana, he said.
