MOULTRIE, Ga. — Two robbers armed with guns hit a busy northwest Moultrie convenience store on Monday, but no one was hurt during the afternoon hold-up.
Moultrie police said that at about 4:24 p.m. two males entered the 1406 West Bypass Quik Mart and took an undisclosed amount of cash.
It was similar to other store robberies officers have investigated this year, said Moultrie Police Department Inv. Tonero Bender.
“Two black males entered the business brandishing firearms, had faces covered and demanded money,” he said. “There were patrons in the store at the time. The clerk complied, as he should have.”
After taking the money the armed pair left the area on foot, Bender said. They did not try to rob any of the people inside the store at the time.
Police ask that anyone with information about the robbery call its investigative division tat (229) 890-5500.
The Monday afternoon heist was the eleventh holdup of a business in the city in 2016. At least another three robberies of individuals have been reported to police for the year.
Robbers have struck at businesses both in the daytime as well as at night and have conducted them at locations throughout the city. Most of the robberies have been at convenience stores, with exceptions being holdups on Feb. 8 at the Goody’s store on Talmadge Drive and on Feb. 11 at J. Harvey’s restaurant.
Police have told The Observer that some of the robberies may be related. No one has been seriously injured during the robberies.
