ALEXANDRIA, Ind. — An Indiana man was uninjured after he drove his mother’s truck into a ditch and hit a utility pole, according to authorities in Madison County.
Deputies investigated the accident near county roads 700 North and 140 East in Alexandria Sunday evening and found Tanner Wilson, 19, Muncie, Indiana.
Madison County Sheriff’s Department Maj. Joey Cole told the Anderson (Ind.) Herald Bulletin Wilson told deputies he had taken the 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe from his mother because he was mad at her and had driven it into the utility pole on purpose. According to police reports, the pole was snapped in half.
An estimate of damage from the accident was unavailable.
Wilson, who declined medical treatment, told deputies that he had taken shots of alcohol and smoked marijuana before the crash, Cole said. He was taken to a local hospital for a toxicology test.
Cole said the accident remains under investigation and charges are likely, pending the toxicology results.
