MOULTRIE – Ryan Fitzgerald kicked the final field goal of his outstanding career at Florida State and tight end Landen Thomas caught a 2-point conversion pass in the Seminoles 31-11 season-ending loss to Florida on Saturday.
After converting on a 39-yarder in the third quarter, Fitzgerald, a redshirt senior, finished the season 13-for-13 in field goal attempts for the Seminoles.
He also converted all 14 extra-point attempts.
Last week, Fitzgerald was named as one of the three finalists for the 2024 Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award.
He is 5-for-5 on field goal attempts from 50 yards or more. Among the three finalists, Fitzgerald is the only player without a miss this season, while his five 50-plus-yard field goals are three more than the other finalists.
The winner will be announced December 12.
In addition to the conversion reception, Thomas caught two other passes for 18 yards.
He finished his freshman season with the Seminoles with 14 pass receptions for 173 yards and a touchdown.
Florida State finishes 2-10.

• Kaleb Dawson concluded his collegiate career by making three solo tackles, including one for a loss, and being credited with four assists in Alabama A&M season-ending 28-20 loss to Florida A&M last Friday.
The Bulldogs finish 6-6.
For the season, the red-shirt senior defensive back had 29 solo and 31 assisted tackles, including 3.5 for losses, and intercepted three passes.
He also had three interceptions in 2023.
Dawson played the last two seasons at Alabama A&M after starting his career at Appalachian State.
• Omar Daniels, another former Colquitt County defensive back, had three solo and three assisted tackles in Georgia Tech’s 44-42 eight-overtime loss at Georgia on Friday.
Georgia Tech finishes the regular season with a 7-5 record and is awaiting its bowl destination, which will be announced Dec. 8.
• Kamaar Bell again started at left guard for South Carolina in its 17-14 victory over Clemson on Saturday.
The 9-3 Gamecocks will learn their bowl destination next week.
Despite the loss, Clemson will play SMU for the ACC championship on Dec. 7, in Charlotte, N.C.
• North Carolina State scored a touchdown with 25 seconds remaining to defeat North Carolina 35-30 on Saturday.
The Wolfpack, which trailed 20-13 heading into the final quarter, is now 6-6 and secured a bowl berth.
Kamal Bonner lead North Carolina State with four solo and three assisted tackles.
• Le’Meke Brockington had two pass receptions for 22 yards in Minnesota’s 24-7 victory over Wisconsin last Friday.
The Golden Gophers, now 7-5, will learn their bowl destination on Dec. 8.
• West Virginia lost its regular-season finale 52-15 to Texas Tech, but its 6-6 record has the Mountaineers bowl-eligible.
Ty French was credited with a pass breakup in the game.
• Arizona was defeated by No. 14 Arizona State 49-7 in its season-finale and finished 4-8.
Jack Luttrell started at safety for Arizona and had one solo tackle.
• Eastern Kentucky’s season ended with a 22-17 loss at Villanova in the first round of the NCAA FCS playoffs.
Defensive back Jaheim Ward had a pair of solo tackles and a pass breakup for the Colonels.
