Virgil Seay shows Super Bowl ring

Former Moultrie Packer Virgil Seay was inducted into the East Mississippi Community College Sports Hall of Fame on Friday, Sept. 25, and was introduced on the field before the Lions’ 42-24 victory over Itawamba Community College the next day. Seay was the Packers leading rusher in 1974 and 1975 and played two seasons at East Mississippi before finishing his college career the next two years at Troy University. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos and played four years in the National Football League with the Washington Redskins and Atlanta Falcons. He was a member of the Redskins teams that played in Super Bowls XVII and XVIII. He has a ring for being on the Redskins team that defeated the Miami Dolphins 27-17 in Super Bowl XVII at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. Seay, a member of the Colquitt County Sports Hall of Fame, also was inducted into Troy University Sports Hall of Fame last April. Seay displays his Super Bowl ring at the East Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame banquet.
