Hansel Maurice Barfield

DOERUN, GA.- Hansel Maurice Barfield, 91, of Doerun, died Thursday, Oct. 08, 2015 at Willson Hospice House in Albany.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, October 11, at Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Ed Godwin and the Rev. Milford Stanley officiating.  Interment will follow in Doerun Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Jody Barfield, Ron Barfield, Tracy Barfield, Patrick DeLoaach, Eric Hall, Drew Norton, Marty VanHorn, and Andrew Dove.

Born September 16, 1924 in Sylvester, he was the son of the late Arthur Heyward Barfield and Lola Inez Kennedy Barfield.  He was a retired farmer and was a Charter Member and a Deacon of Grace Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hettie Lee Shiver Barfield; two sisters, Vera Ruis and Flory Ruis.

Survivors include four children, Maurice Barfield and Mary Helen of Doerun, Judy B. Smith and Garlan of Moultrie, Raye Barfield and Jeannie of Fort Valley, Ga. and Jackie DeLoach and Mike of McRae, Ga.; five grandchildren, Buffy B. Hall and Eric, Jody M. Barfield and Stephanie, Ron Barfield and Jennifer, Tracy Barfield and Joanna, and Patrick DeLoach and Kelly; and ten great-grandchildren, Jordan Barfield, Isabella Barfield, Cameron Hall, Dillon Hall, Blake Barfield, Carter Barfield, Alana Barfield, Kowen DeLoach, Perry Grace DeLoach, and Kolton DeLoach.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
