Theft reports continue to add up

Two Colquitt County residents and a business employee reported Wednesday they were victims of property theft. Items reported stolen included medication, a trailer and car stereo equipment.
The known value of the items reported stolen and damage caused during the thefts was estimated at $1,050, bringing the total of reported thefts and damaged so far for the week at an estimated $64,549. Those who reported being the victims of property theft were:
• An employee at Jackson Transmission on West Central Avenue reported a thief broke out a rear sliding window of a customer’s Ford F-250 and stole a CD player and two amplifiers between Aug. 25 and 8 a.m. Wednesday. Damage and the value of the stolen items was estimated at $750.
• William Freeman reported a male relative borrowed his trailer and pawned it between May 1 and 11:21 a.m. Wednesday. The value of the stolen trailer was $300.
• Walter Cribb, of Willow Drive, reported a thief stole two bottles of Darvocet medication and some muscle relaxation medication Wednesday.

• A juvenile boy was charged Wednesday with being a runaway.
Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office
• Connie Lanel Slater, 32, of 1713 First Ave. S.E., was charged Wednesday with theft by taking.
• Gabrielle Shantell Brown, 23, of 611 Fourth Ave. S.W., was charged Wednesday with theft by taking.
• Winfred Lloyd Miller, 26, of 223-A Seventh St. S.E., was charged Wednesday with driving with an expired decal and no proof of insurance.
• David Garrett Cash, 37, of 7828 Breast Station Road in Baconton, was charged Wednesday with simple battery.
• Terrance Jermain King, 25, of 621 Fourth Ave. S.W., was charged Tuesday with theft by taking.
• Clifford Lee Almond, 57, of 621 Fourth Ave. S.W., was charged Tuesday with theft by taking.
Georgia State Patrol
• Donald Eugene Wilson, 48, of 165 Gay Road in Quitman, was charged Monday with DUI, possession of drug-related objects, a tire violation, a seatbelt violation, driving with a suspended license, an open container violation and possession of crack cocaine.
