This Past Sunday

It was another very intense week at Heritage. We celebrated a wonderfully successfully Respite Night sponsored by our Breathe ministry.  They hosted an alternative homecoming for those with special needs and the response was incredible. We also paid tribute to the many who lost their lives 10 years ago on 9/11.

The question of the day was, “If it’s not about me, what is it about?” The American dream says to work hard, accomplish much, and then retire. But is this even biblical? Isn’t our call much greater with a global purpose? It’s really not about our personal comfort or “pursuit of happiness” – we have a much more significant, eternal mission.

The day ended on a very personal note. Recent events in our community have elevated racial tensions, and as one of only a few multi-racial congregations, we believe this is our battle to fight. We refuse to let racism reclaim any ground in Moultrie, Ga. We stand united and pray against such spiritual attacks.

Scavenger Hunt

For those participating in the community-wide Radical Scavenger Hunt, here your clue this week:

David & Jayne Brown with Good Samaritan Counseling often use a symbol to illustrate a couple’s relationship with Christ. This symbol will lead you to the “R”!  Happy Hunting!

This Coming Sunday

We’ll be using chapter 5 from David’s Platt’s book, “Radical”, as a springboard to engage some challenging scriptures of the Bible. We’d love you to join us for this intense journey!
