The Colquitt County Board of Education has met all criteria and is being recognized by the Georgia School Boards Association as a GSBA Quality School Board for 2013. The new GSBA Board Recognition Program began its implementation on July 1, 2012, said Jeannie M. Henry, GSBA executive director, in a letter to county School Superintendent Samuel DePaul.
The GSBA Governance Team Achievement Recognition program has a three-year, three-tiered program beginning with the Quality Board status. DePaul noted “The steps have to be done one at a time, with the next recognition level being Distinguished Board. The Colquitt County Board of Education is already working towards meeting the required criteria to be recognized.”
GSBA’s executive director congratulated the board on their leadership and school governance. DePaul presented the certificate to Board Chairman Pat Anderson at a recent Board of Education meeting. Chairman Anderson shared, “This recognition validates the hard work and dedication of not only our board, but our staff and students alike.”
