Lisa Clarke Hill to speak at youth program

Councilwoman Lisa Clarke Hill will be the guest speaker at Union Missionary Baptist Church’s Youth Program on Sunday. June 29, at 4 p.m. The interim pastor is the Rev. Freddy Williams and the theme is “Power Up With Jesus!” Music will be provided by Live Oak Baptist Church Young Adult Choir.

Clarke Hill is a native of Moultrie and has worked with youth and the community for more than 14 years as a certified school social worker at Colquitt County High School. She is also a Moultrie City Councilmember, currently serving as Mayor Pro Tem.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in social work (summa cum laude) from Albany State University and her master’s degree in clinical social work (summa cum laude) from the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, with an emphasis in school social work. She has more than 72 hours of municipal government training from The Carl Vinson Institute of Government via The University of Georgia and Georgia Municipal Association. She attended Cox Elementary, Stringfellow Elementary, Funston Elementary and graduated from Colquitt County High School with top honors, third in her graduating class.

She is an avid volunteer and champion for her community. She’s a Moultrie Lion’s Club member, Colquitt County NAACP member, chair of support and education section of the Mental Health Committee/Healthy Colquitt Coalition, N.A.M.I. member, Moultrie/Colquitt County Boys & Girls Club board member, Teen Maze volunteer, Colquitt County Association of Educator’s/GAE/NEA immediate past president, Colquitt County Land Bank Authority member, Downtown Development Authority member, Moultrie Property, Planning and Growth member, Colquitt County Parks and Recreation member, Family Connections member, YMCA Outreach committee and serves on various local and state committees in relation to school social work and city government.

Clarke Hill is a member of Lewis Cathedral Church of God in Christ, where the Pastor is Elder/Supt. J.W. Lewis. At least twice a month, she teaches Bible Band Class, Pray & Tarry service and or Sunday school and is a church missionary in training.
