MOULTRIE – Fourteen Colquitt County wrestlers won all three of their matches at the Packer Scramble held Saturday, Nov. 9, at the high school.
Wrestlers from Bainbridge, Cairo, Lowndes and Valdosta also took part.
Packers coach Benjy Scarbor sent 35 of his wrestlers out to the four mats on the William Bryant Court at the high school in the first competition of the season.
Five members of the Colquitt County girls team also took part.
Going 3-0 for the Packers were senior Diego Barrios, at 126; junior Cristobal Camarena, 132; sophomore Cruz Grijalva, 132; senior Quintavious Mitchell, 132; senior Andy Sanchez, 132; freshman Trey Gomez, 138; junior Britton Marshall, 138; sophomore Evan Flowers, 150; senior Logan Paradice, 150; senior Randy Smith, 150; Sy Jones, 165; sophomore Frederick Key, 165; senior Russell Flowers, 175; and senior Rafael King, 215.
Getting two wins were Juan Rivera, 120; senior Hector Gonzalez, 126; sophomore Benjamin Yingling, 126; junior Conner Causey, 144; senior De’Montrae Reeves, 165; freshman Kevin Acosta, 215; and freshman Ta’Marrion Sims, 285.
Sophomore Hanly Bautista won both of her matches for the Lady Packers at 115 pounds.
Also competing for the Colquitt County girls were freshman London Coleman, 100; sophomore Lillian Brown, 145; freshman Allison Quiroz, 155; and junior Lesly Tercero, 170.
The Colquitt County varsity, girls and junior varsity wrestlers will travel to McDonough on Saturday, Nov. 16, to compete in the Raja Bryan Memorial Invitational at Ola High School.
