Police: Driver tried to flee after music got officer’s attention

A Moultrie police officer attempted to pull over a car that was blaring lound music about 4 a.m. Saturday, but the car led him on a chase through parts of northwest Moultrie. The chase ended when the driver ran from the car and was caught by officers pursuing him on foot.

Steven Sharod Spencer, 32, 228 Second Ave. N.W., was charged with loud music from automobile, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, driving under the influence, fleeing and attempting to elude and driving without a license.

In other arrests

Moultrie Police

• Michael David Roy, 25, 420 W. Blvd., was charged Monday with aggravated assault.

He is accused of choking Melissa Clayton during an assault on her March 25.

• Ricardo Breshard Bodiford, 26, 1404 Hutchinson Drive, was charged Monday with possession of marijuana.

Bodiford was arrested after witnesses at the scene of an accident at North Main Street and Second Avenue Northeast reported that he threw an object into some bushes.

An officer found a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana in the area. Bodiford was driving a 2006 Chrysler 300 that collided with a 2004 Freightliner semi truck driven by Manuel Lira of Swainsboro. There were no injuries in the accident.

• Darrell Lamar Johnson, 53, 9 Fourth Ave. N.W. Apt. D, was charged Monday with probation violation.

Johnson was arrested after the Trading Post, 420 First Ave. S.E., reported that he owed money on furniture and he was located by an officer in relation to that accusation.

• Wesley Johnson, 20, 1155 Sixth St. S.W., was charged Monday with theft by shoplifting.

Johnson is accused of concealing a box of Mucinex in his pocket on Monday at Rite Aid, 305 Sixth St. S.E.

Two juveniles who were with Johnson were detained nearby and told  not to return to the store, police reports said.• Pedro Fernando-Ramirez, 27, of 2206 West Blvd., was charged Sunday with DUI, hit and run, and failure to maintain lane.

• Oshay Andrews, 19, of 404 Hillcrest Ave., was charged Friday` with contempt of court Saturday.

• Miguel Granados, 28, 8 Las Vegas Lane, was charged Sunday with no driver’s license.

• Marquise Young, 21, of 2706 Fifth Ave. S.E., was charged Sunday with driving on a suspended license, child seat violation and probation violation.

• Michael Jason Lewis, 36, 694 26th Ave. S.E., was charged Friday with disorderly conduct, public drunk, and three counts of bondsman off bond.

• Corey Weston Mix, 23, 209 Suwannee Road, was charged Saturday with driving while license withdrawn and speeding.

• James Darrell Gandy, 49, of 262 Brandi Drive, was cahrged Saturday with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, public drunk and probation violation.

• Vickie Lynn Taylor, 51, of Thomasville, was charged Saturday with DUI and driving on a suspended license.

• Kwonteko Vashima Porter, 38, of Albany, was charged Sunday with failure to obey a traffic control device, driving without a license, no insurance and driving while tag suspended.

• Shonda Ralanda Maxwell, 31, of Barwick, was charged Friday with probation violation.

• Anselmo Luna, 26, 1412 Seventh Ave. S.W., was charged Friday with driving without a license and speeding.

• Jennifer Brown, 33, 604 Grady St., Thomasville, was charged Tuesday with driving while license withdrawn.

• Thelma Diane Griffin, 41, 581 Newsom Road, was charged Monday with two counts of deposit account fraud.

• Kevaughn Tamajh Hayes, 22, 145 Peach Lane, was charged Friday with bail jumping.

• Miguel Quirez, 27, 123 Dogwood Drive, was charged Sunday with driving wihtout a license.

• Adrian Seth Alford, 37, 499 Perryman Road, was charged Friday with probation violation.

• Bradly Ryan Anderson, 19, 237 Big Bear Blvd., was charged Friday with statutory rape.

Georgia State Patrol

• Donald Ray Holmes, 25, 5028 Cool Springs Road, Norman Park, was cahrged Friday with DUI, drugs not in original container, driving while tag suspended, drving while license withdrawn and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Thefts

Moultrie Police Department

• Willie Spence, 500 block Fourth Court Northwest, reported Monday the theft of an HP Pavilion Dv9000 laptop computer valued at $2,000.

• Corey Davis, of Moultrie, reported someone stole his wallet from a friend’s vehicle Sunday while it was parked at Walmart. The wallet and its contents were valued at $41.

• Christopher Clayton, 1300 block Seventh Street Southwest, told police Friday that his daughter’s go-kart was missing from their yard.

Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office

• Tony Bivins, 200 block South Church Street, reported Monday the theft of a pocketbook containing $30, a Social Security and health insurance cards, other papers, keys and prescription medication.

• Kay Baron, 100 block Deer Run Road, reported Monday the theft of a Bank of America debit card from her purse.

Property damage

Moultrie Police Department

• Lawanda Lovett, Moultrie, reported Monday that a 2010 Dodge Avenger was damaged while parked at 11th Avenue Southwest and Goff Drive.

Lovett told the officer that she parked the car there while she was walking. The car had scratches on the hood, passenger side and trunk.

Damage appeared to be more than $500, police reports said.

• Rebecca Folds, Moultrie, reported that a 2009 Nissan Altima was damaged while parked in the 400 block of 31st Avenue Southeast.

The car had a dent on the passenger side, police reports said.

• Shavicka King, 700 block Sixth Street Northwest, reported Monday that a 2010 Dodge Charger was scratched on the driver’s side.

Damage was estimated at less than $500.
