Inspired by a true story, “Sound of Hope” follows Donna and Reverend Martin, a couple whose faith and love transformed the lives of children in foster care. Their rural church in Possum Trot, Texas, answered the call to adopt. Therefore, seeming to prove that a committed community can change the trajectory of a child’s life.

“This film is a testament to what’s possible when people step up for kids in foster care,” said Sarah Scott, advocate coordinator for the CASA Kids Program. “We hope it sparks conversations and action right here in our community.”

Please note that “Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot” has a PG-13 rating. So, it contains themes that may not be suitable for young children. Parental discretion is advised.

Before the screening, The CASA Kids Program at Never Lost shares ways to help in supporting children and families affected by foster care. Right now, in Colquitt County, there are 36 children in need of safe, temporary foster homes. However, there are only four licensed foster families.

“The numbers are overwhelming, but they’re more than statistics — they’re kids right here in our community who need us, ” said Scott. “Everyone can do something to make a difference.”
